I never considered writing until folks who heard our story suggested I write a book. At first it was laughable, but the more I thought about how important our story could be for others, I had to start.
Since “Thank God Church Is Over” are my reflections about my boys growing up, the time spent reminiscing was wonderful. The best moments were when an incident would flash into my consciousness and I knew I had to add that to the story. Not all the memories were pleasant; some were excruciatingly painful. My editor, Katherine Hunter, worked hard to draw these emotions out.
I hope folks who read “Thank God Church Is Over” will take time to savor their own memories the way one might a stunning sunset or the warmth of a crackling fire
